Serco supports the USAF as a Prime for their NexGen IT contract.This position is contingent upon your ability to pass NACI investigation.This is a 100% remote opportunity.Serco supports the Air Force (AF) Civil Engineering (CE) community NexGen IT initiative's implementation of IBM TRIRIGA is the largest in the world. Serco manages all aspects of the Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC) for the NexGen IT program including requirements definition, development, testing, upgrades, enhancements, and troubleshooting and supports all infrastructure for the installations.You will be part of a large team that works closely with the customers, end users, and other Serco teams to deliver quality cloud engineering support, software, innovations, and administration tasks. The team has been recognized by the USAF and industry for their outstanding contributions to the program.In this role, you will:Lead end-to-end migration from contractor-owned on-premises data center to the agency's AWS cloud environmentDesign and implement secure, scalable, and cost-optimized AWS architectures (VPC, IAM, EC2, EBS, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.)Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation for repeatable, compliant deploymentsArchitect and integrate hybrid solutions for systems that remain on-premises (e.g., mailroom, legacy workflows)Configure and validate network connectivity across environments (VPN, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway)Ensure all cloud solutions meet FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST 800-53 compliance standardsImplement monitoring, logging, and security controls (CloudWatch, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Config, Inspector)Manage identity and access management across platforms (Active Directory, SAML, IAM Federation)Optimize application and database performance for .NET, Java, and SQL workloads within AWSProduce detailed architecture diagrams, migration roadmaps, and operational runbooks for ongoing managementCollaborate closely with agency stakeholders, security, DevOps, and application development teamsProvide technical leadership and mentoring to cloud engineers and development teamsDemonstrate strong experience with both Linux and Windows environments and modern DevOps toolchains (CI/CD, Git, Jenkins, Docker)Maintain excellent communication and coordination skills across technical and non-technical teamsPreferred Certification: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (or equivalent)Air Force contracting experienceTo be successful in this role you will have:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field15+ years of IT experience5+ years of AWS cloud experience5+ years of application development experience, technical leadershipExperience in architecting, designing and developing applications on the AWS platform or equivalent platformPrevious experience as Software/Solution Architect, Lead Architect, or similar roleThe ability to travel up to 10% of the timeIf you are interested in supporting and working with our military and a passionate Serco team- then submit your application now for immediate consideration.
