DutiesElementary School Principal at Wilson Creek (PreK-1st Grade)Demonstrate support for the mission, beliefs, and goals of MSD114Provide vision and leadership to ensure high-quality teaching and learningLead the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum and instructional programsUse student achievement data to guide instructional decisions and continuous school improvementSupport teachers through observation, evaluation, coaching, and professional developmentPromote and sustain a safe, respectful, and inclusive school environmentImplement student discipline procedures that are fair, consistent, and aligned with restorative practicesFoster social-emotional learning and support systems to address the diverse needs of studentsEncourage collaboration, innovation, and shared leadership among staffRecruit, hire, and retain high-quality staff membersSupervise and evaluate certified and classified personnelProvide opportunities for professional growth and capacity building for staffCultivate a positive, collaborative culture that values teamwork and continuous improvementOversee day-to-day building operations, including scheduling, facilities management, and student activitiesEnsure compliance with district policies, state and federal regulations, and reporting requirementsManage budgets and resources effectively to support school goalsLead crisis management, safety drills, and emergency preparednessMaintain open and transparent communication with families regarding student progress, school programs, and district initiativesBuild strong partnerships with parents, guardians, and community organizationsRepresent the school positively within the Manhattan School District 114 community'Encourage family engagement in school activities, events, and decision-makingPerform other duties as assigned by the SuperintendentQualificationsIllinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with General Administrative or Principal endorsement requiredMaster's degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or related fieldMinimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience; leadership experience preferredKnowledge of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and best practices in teaching and learningStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to build trust, inspire others, and lead with fairness, integrity, and visionSalary/BenefitsMinimum Salary: $100,000 based on education and experienceBenefits align with district administrative guidelines and Board of Education policyAdditional NotesManhattan School District 114 is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
