Residential Life Graduate Assistant
Job Responsibilities:This position requires availability prior to semester courses beginning and post semester in order to:Advising and SupervisingCo-supervises Resident Assistants within the assigned areaSupports student programming efforts and assists with program advisement, implementation, and coverageAssist in the supervision of the res hall front desk and front desk staffProgram Development, Implementation, and AssessmentDevelops and coordinates programs and promotions for Residential LifeSupports student programming put on by Student LifeManages the daily operations of a residence hall, including student conduct for that specific areaAssist with selecting, training, supervising, mentoring, and evaluating Resident AssistantsParticipate in on-call responsibilities, crisis intervention, and conflict resolutionAssist in contacting/requesting emergency transportation of residential students to healthcare facilitiesResponsible for enforcing University policies and proceduresCoordinate, in conjunction with your supervisor, room changes and placementArticulate student interests/needs and facilitate the development of a healthy living environmentOversee development, implementation, and assessment of community programmingAssist with campus-wide programs through collaboration with Student EngagementMaintain communications and interactions with residence hall students, staff, and facultyContributes to the achievement of enrollment goals by designing programs that contribute to the recruitment and retention of students and by assisting other departments with enrollment-related initiativesAttends Student Life meetings, trainings, retreats, and planning sessions as deemed necessaryMaintains a high profile at student programs and athletic eventsPartners with other Student Life staff as indicated and seeks out opportunities to work with othersPerforms other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's DegreeStrong commitment to ethnic and cultural diversityExemplary skills in program development and implementationExcellent oral and written communication skillsHigh level of competency in the use of technology to accomplish the above goals Work some evenings and weekendsStipend for the academic year: $6000Tuition Award: 12 credit hours for the academic yearHours per week: 20Academic Program(s): DSCI, ASCI, MUTH, PHTH, SPLP, ED, MBA
