The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust backend systems and APIs that power our applications. You will work collaboratively with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to build scalable, efficient, and secure backend solutions.Working Environment Fully remote positionWork from anywhere within USCollaborative team cultureTechnical Stack PHPMySQLAWSKey Responsibilities Design and develop scalable backend services, RESTful APIs, and databases using PHP and MySQLDeploy applications on AWS (EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3) with CI/CD pipeline experienceContribute to architectural decisions and technical strategyWrite clean, maintainable, well-documented code following best practicesOptimize database schemas and queries for performance; identify and resolve bottlenecks in high-traffic systemsDevelop unit tests, debug issues, and troubleshoot in production and development environmentsImplement security best practices and secure coding standardsParticipate in code reviews, maintain version control (Git) and comprehensive technical documentationWork cross-functionally with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and product teamsStay current with industry trends and recommend architectural improvementsRequired Skills 5+ years of professional backend development experience3+ years of PHP development with proven production-level applicationsStrong MySQL knowledge (relational design, SQL optimization, database management)Working experience with AWS services and cloud-based developmentStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent communication and collaboration abilitiesPreferred skills Python Experience: Knowledge of Python for scripting, automation, or backend servicesRuby on Rails Experience: Knowledge of Ruby on Rails backend servicesMentor junior developers and share interests and findings in new technologiesAbility to work independently and take ownership of projects
