Sr. Network Design Engineer - Access

Overview In this role you will design and optimize MPLS-based WAN/LAN architectures, guiding the architecture team and serving as a subject-matter expert on network technologies. You’ll ensure secure, policy-aligned designs and obtain Authority to Operate for new devices and capabilities. You’ll test, document, and evaluate technologies, supporting operations with advanced fault isolation and proactive analysis. You will shape scalable network solutions that meet defense and enterprise requirements while collaborating across teams. ResponsibilitiesDesign and improve MPLS network architecture and servicesMaintain technical documentation and bill of materialsDevelop secure designs aligned with DISA STIGs and enterprise policies; obtain ATOEvaluate new technologies and perform solution testing with NMS integrationProvide technical guidance to Operations engineers; troubleshoot and resolve faultsConfigure and troubleshoot QoS and traffic optimizationSupport Tier-4 production troubleshooting and proactive network analysisLeverage network analysis tools for problem identification and post-mortem analysisDocument designs with diagrams and configurations; brief designs to stakeholders Key requirementsTS/SCI with Poly clearance16+ years of experience or equivalent education/experienceDoD 8140 IAT Level 2 compliantJuniper certifications or training (JNCIA, JNCIP, JNCIE)Experience in CAN/LAN and WAN analysis, testing, and supportFamiliarity with firewalls and network timingExperience with MPLS networks and MPLS VPN servicesExperience with complex network analysis tools and log managementStrong routing and switching knowledge; BGP experience a plusproblem solvingclear communicationteam collaborationMPLS/WAN designQoS configuration and traffic optimizationNMS integration and network testing
