Job Description Job #218462 Chipton-Ross is seeking a Stress Analyst for a contract opportunity in Tulsa, OK BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE) Bachelors Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or other related engineering field with four (4-10+) years aircraft stress analysis experience or a Masters Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or other related engineering field with two (2) years aircraft stress analysis experience. Familiarity with FAA (Part 23 or 25) or military aircraft airworthiness design approach, certification process, and requirements. Good computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Able to generate free body diagrams and calculate internal loads and stresses. Although not expected, must be able to travel from Tulsa to Waco, TX if required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, and have general computer knowledge. Good verbal and written communication skills. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES The Stress Analyst is responsible for structural analysis of aircraft modifications, including design support, and preparation of technical documentation necessary to ensure airworthiness. Determination of stress levels in primary and secondary aircraft structure, systems, and equipment resulting from applied and induced loads, as well as the comparison of these stresses with material properties to predict failure and structural instabilities given due consideration to applicable failure theories. In addition, this position will be hired to support stress liaison activities for an aircraft being heavily modified in Waco, TX. Work will be performed at the client Tulsa, OK facility. Travel could be required to Waco for support of critical liaison activities although not expected. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE) Finite element modeling with commercial software, Siemans FEMAP or PATRAN / NASTRAN. Automating calculations using VBA in Excel or another programming language. Reviewing engineering design data with CAD and PLM software, including NX and Teamcenter. Structural substantiation of aircraft structure with classical analysis. Results-oriented, empowering leader with direct experience exceling in a matrixed environment Experience analyzing composite structure.. Experience in MatLab a plus. Experience with FAA and/or Military certification requirements. REQUIRED EDUCATION Accredited Bachelors Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or other related engineering field with four (4-10+) years aircraft stress analysis experience or a Masters Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or other related engineering field with two (2) years aircraft stress analysis experience.
