In this role, you develop full-stack solutions using Python and React, deployed on Azure. Your work turns business needs into reliable, production-ready systems. You also help improve system reliability, shape technical direction, and support the growth of others on the team.Principal Duties And ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain scalable web applications using Python frameworks such as Django and front-end tools like ReactDesign and develop APIs and backend services that support data-driven use casesDeploy and manage applications on Microsoft Azure, including App Service, Functions, Containers, Storage, SQL, and DatabricksImplement monitoring, logging, and tracing using tools such as Azure Monitor and Application InsightsImprove application performance, reliability, and security across the stackLead incident response efforts and perform root cause analysis to resolve issues and prevent recurrenceAutomate build, test, and deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOpsMentor engineers and contribute to consistent engineering practicesPOSITION SPECIFICATIONSExperience: 5+ years of professional software development with PythonEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experienceBack-end: Hands-on experience building applications with Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPIFront-end: Experience building user interfaces using JavaScript, including ReactData: Experience writing SQL queries and performing data analysis tasksCloud / Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, including App Service, Functions, Containers, and StorageDevOps: Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOpsTools: Experience using GitHub, VS Code, and modern development environmentsCommunication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document decisions and collaborate across teamsNICE TO HAVEData: Experience with Azure Databricks, including PySpark, Delta Lake, and data workflowsDomain: Knowledge of risk management or financial servicesObservability: Familiarity with monitoring and tracing practices such as OpenTelemetryAI: Experience using AI tools in the development processSMBC’s employees participate in a Hybrid workforce model that provides employees with an opportunity to work from home, as well as, from an SMBC office.
