Java API Developer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Java API Developer for a contract position with a Major Financial Services Firm located in Charlotte, NC. This is an 12+ month contract opportunity.This role will bridge the gap between design and implementation, providing web solutions involving collaboration, portals, enterprise search, and mobile functionality. The qualified candidate will work in an Agile/Scrum delivery model to develop web applications and sites that engage and retain visitors, with a focus on a modern Java stack including Spring, SpringBoot, and Microservices.Responsibilities:Develop web applications and sites that engage and retain visitorsProvide guidance on industry best practices, guidelines and governance for web applications and web sitesManage latest requirements for cross-browser compatibility and page optimizationDevelop applications and sites to include social media and mobile functionalityWork closely with Quality Assurance to ensure end product is delivered with quality outcomesPerform benefit analysis for IT solutions and make recommendations for technology directionArticulate ideas and demonstrate a willingness to bring new ideas to the forefront frequentlyMaintain excellent knowledge base of industry trends and developmentsRequirements:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalentDemonstrated progressive experience in front-end and back-end developmentStrong experience with Java, Spring, SpringBoot, Reactive Programming, WebFlux, JPA, R2DBC, Microservices, and API DevelopmentMastery of modern web technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and JS frameworks (jQuery, ember.js, angular.js, Foundation, Bootstrap), and JSONAdvanced skills in object-oriented coding and scriptingSkills in relational database modeling and creating advanced SQL queries/proceduresKnowledge of source control concepts and repositories such as Git, SVN, or TFSExperience creating and executing unit tests using established unit test frameworksDesired skills:Experience with responsive web design, fluid layouts and positioning, including Mobile InterfacesKnowledge of SEO concepts and coding for Search Engine OptimizationKnowledge of coding REST APIs, AJAX, and XML (XSD, XSL, XPATH)Ability to create in-house JavaScript libraries of reusable componentsAbility to set up, configure, and host websites with IIS and ApacheRapid prototyping skills with the ability to demonstrate website design/functionalityPay range: $65 - $75 per hourOnly candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.If you have the described qualifications and are interested in this exciting opportunity, please apply!Ranked a Top Staffing Firm in the U.S. by Staffing Industry Analysts for six consecutive years, Genesis10 puts thousands of consultants and employees to work across the United States every year in contract, contract-for-hire, and permanent placement roles.
