ControllerA growing and dynamic family office is seeking a hands-on Controller to oversee accounting and financial operations across multiple operating entities within the sports entertainment and real estate sectors. This individual will play a key leadership role within the finance team and will help set the tone for culture, collaboration, and operational excellence across the organization.This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and partnering closely with senior leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare, review, and analyze monthly and annual financial statementsMaintain and monitor cash flow projections and reportingOversee general ledger accounting and month-end/year-end close processesEnsure compliance with US GAAP and accounting best practicesSupport leadership with financial insights and operational reportingCollaborate with executives and corporate leadership on special projects and initiativesAssist with process improvements and development of accounting proceduresMentor and help develop accounting staff while fostering a collaborative team environmentTeam StructureLead a small accounting team of 3 total, including:2 Staff Accountants located in Pompano Beach and OkeechobeeServe as part of the family office leadership teamSupport multiple operating businesses under the family office umbrellaQualificationsCPA license or CPA in progress requiredPublic accounting firm and/or audit background highly preferredStrong background in financial statement preparation, GL accounting, and month-end closeSolid understanding of US GAAPHands-on accounting experience within small-to-mid-sized environments preferredStable career progression and strong professional tenureComfortable interacting with executives and cross-functional leadership teamsStrong communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindsetAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial culturePreferred ExperienceExperience with Sage Intacct and/or QuickBooksPrior exposure to multi-entity environments, family office structures, or closely held businessesCultureThe organization offers a collaborative, “work hard, play hard” environment with strong team camaraderie and leadership visibility.
