CRC is seeking to fill a Geologist position reporting to our Bakersfield office.The base annual salary for this posted position is expected to range from $135K - $216K, with a target annual bonus of 20% of base salary and eligibility to participate in our long-term incentive program. Actual salary will be determined based on individual pay factors, including education, experience level and relevant industry experience. Benefits include: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K with Match, Paid Holidays, FSA, HSA.ResponsibilitiesGeologic interpretation is the foundation of CRC’s exploration, development, reserves estimation, and business planning efforts, our geologists are critical members of our teams. CRC is seeking a Geologist for our Thermal assets. The Geologist is a hands-on technical role. Job duties may vary by asset, but core responsibilities are as follows:Oversee all aspects of geologic data acquisition including open hole and cased hole logging, coring and core analysis, petrophysical and geophysical interpretation for assigned areasIntegrate all of the above to generate and maintain up-to-date geological interpretation, models, and volumetric estimates of assigned assetsWork with Reservoir Engineering counterparts to generate annual accounting of reserves and EURWork with multidisciplinary team to define and execute capital program and life of field plan, including well planning and future pattern layoutParticipate in pattern and field wide reservoir surveillance in support of steam flood management and opportunity generationProvide geologic inputs to permit applications and work with Regulatory during permitting processes.Provide geologic support to drilling and workover activityIf you feel you meet the following required qualifications, have excellent communication skills, and are eager to work in a multidisciplinary team environment, we are interested in visiting with you.QualificationsBachelors and Masters Degrees in geology or related fieldsMinimum 5 years’ experience in petroleum geology and minimum three years’ experience planning and executing an active development programProficient in all aspects of geologic data integration and interpretation including reservoir description, stratigraphic and structural interpretation, 2D and 3D mapping, and estimation of OOIPFamiliarity with petrophysical interpretation of open-hole and cased-hole logsFamiliarity with core analysis data and methods including PKS and SCALFamiliarity with wellsite geologic operations in drilling, including logging, casing point and TD calls, and willingness to participate in real time decision-making in an active development programAbility to drive the geologic interpretation and development planning of a fieldProficiency in geologic interpretation tools such as PetrelReady and able to work in Bakersfield, CaliforniaDesired QualificationsFamiliarity with California geologyExperience with heavy oil reservoirs and thermal recovery methods.Proficiency with 3D geologic modelingExperience with surface geological mappingExperience with hydrocarbon reserves estimationExperience with geosteering horizontal wellsExperience working with regulatory agencies
