Day Support Program/DSP

North Star Pathways is looking for a creative, positive, and engaging team member to join our Day Support Program serving individuals who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). We’re seeking someone who can find the *joy* in everyday moments, build meaningful connections, and bring fresh ideas to the program. This role combines engaging activities and opportunities for growth with respectful, hands-on personal care. What you’ll be expected to do
  • Create a welcoming, positive environment where individuals feel valued, included, and supported.
  • Plan and lead creative, engaging activities that reflect each individual’s interests, abilities, and goals.
  • Be open to new approaches for creating and exploring job opportunities for individuals who experience I/DD.
  • Help individuals explore their interests, build skills, and participate in meaningful activities.
  • Provide behavior supports as needed.
  • Support activities of daily living (ADLs), including toileting, bathroom assistance, personal hygiene, and other personal care needs.
  • Support instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), such as meal preparation, organizing belongings, and everyday tasks.
  • Provide personal care with patience and professionalism while protecting each individual’s dignity and privacy.
  • Work collaboratively with the team, communicate clearly, and follow individual support plans.
  • Arrive reliably and ready to engage throughout the program day.
Required qualifications:
  • At least two years of experience working in a setting where you supported someone’s ADLs and IADLs.
  • Have experience redirecting behavior
  • Comfort and willingness to provide hands-on bathroom assistance, including toileting and personal hygiene.
  • Ability to pass a criminal history background check.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Availability Monday–Friday, 9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
  • A creative, positive, and engaging approach, with patience, compassion, and openness to trying new ideas.
An important part of this role Personal care is an essential responsibility—not an occasional task. Applicants must be comfortable supporting individuals with bathroom and hygiene needs while also contributing energy, creativity, and meaningful engagement to their day. Apply to join our team If you enjoy helping people discover their strengths, explore possibilities, and find joy in everyday experiences, we’d love to hear from you.
