Legal Assistant Paralegal
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Assistant to support attorneys in a busy civil litigation law practice. The ideal candidate will assist with case management, document preparation, and client communication in matters involving workplace disputes, compliance, and litigation.Key ResponsibilitiesDraft, format, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, correspondence, and discovery materialsFile documents in state and federal courts, including electronic filing (e-filing)Manage case files, calendars, and deadlines to ensure compliance with court rulesAssist attorneys with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and witness materialsCoordinate depositions, hearings, and client meetingsCommunicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnelConduct basic legal research and gather case-related documentsMaintain billing records, time entries, and expense trackingQualifications1+ years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal (labor & employment experience preferred)Familiarity with employment law concepts (e.g., discrimination, wage and hour, wrongful termination)Experience with e-filing systems (state and federal courts)Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)Experience with legal software (e.g., case management or document management systems)Strong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environmentPreferred SkillsKnowledge of EEOC procedures and filingsExperience supporting litigation mattersStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to maintain confidentiality and professionalismEducationAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferredParalegal certificate is a plusWork EnvironmentFast-paced law firm settingCollaborative team environmentOpportunity for growth within the firmMLR is an Equal Opportunity Employer
