They are seeking an Assistant Controller / Accounting Manager to support the firm’s finance and operations function across its investment platform, management company, and affiliated entities.This role is ideal for someone with a strong accounting foundation who wants exposure to a broad range of operational and finance responsibilities within an entrepreneurial investment firm environment. The position will report to the Controller and work closely with the broader finance, investment, and operations teams.The role is less focused on technical fund accounting preparation and more focused on oversight, coordination, operational execution, cash management, investor reporting support, and helping ensure the finance function runs efficiently and accurately.Primary ResponsibilitiesFinance & OperationsSupport day-to-day accounting and finance operations across the management company and investment entitiesAssist with cash management, wires, liquidity tracking, and transaction coordinationReview vendor invoices, expense allocations, and payment processesCoordinate operational workflows related to investments, funding activity, and entity managementMaintain organized financial records and supporting documentationFund Administration OversightServe as a point of coordination with external fund administratorsReview reporting packages, capital activity, and deliverables prepared by third partiesAssist with audit and tax coordination processesTrack deadlines and ensure external providers receive required information on a timely basisHelp manage investor-related operational processesInvestor Reporting & IR SupportHelp maintain track record materials, performance summaries, and IR reporting decksSupport ad hoc investor relations reporting requestsAssist with preparation and review of investor-facing materialsMaintain supporting data and backup for performance and reporting materialsCoordinate with internal teams to ensure reporting materials are accurate, current, and consistentProcess Improvement & InfrastructureHelp improve operational processes, internal organization, and workflow efficiencyMaintain and organize finance, reporting, and document management systemsAssist with implementation of new tools and operational improvementsSupport development of scalable procedures and internal controlsTeam & Cross-Functional SupportWork closely with investment, operations, legal, and external service provider teamsAssist with special projects and ad hoc operational initiativesHelp maintain consistency, accuracy, and responsiveness across finance-related processesQualifications8+ years of experience in accounting, finance operations, fund administration oversight, investor reporting support, or public accountingExperience working with investment firms, private funds, family offices, or alternative asset managers preferredStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and follow-throughProficiency in Excel and general financial systemsCPA or public accounting background is a plus, but not requiredProfileHighly organized and execution-orientedCalm, reliable, and detail-focusedComfortable operating in a lean, entrepreneurial environmentLow ego and collaborativeProactive and solutions-orientedStrong sense of ownership and accountabilityAdditional InformationHybrid role based in the San Francisco Bay AreaCompetitive compensation and benefitsBroad exposure across finance, operations, investor reporting, and investment infrastructure
