SUMMARY OF POSITION
The process engineer assists other departments to assure that the production processes are performing properly with respect to safety, quality, and output; assists in data collection, training, and documentation of assigned projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze processes, equipment, materials to determine efficient manufacturing methods and process improvements
Monitor processes on a continual basis for continuing improvements and/or modifications
Coordinate activities of support personnel and manufacturing to resolve process problems
Assist in training operators on process awareness, monitoring and control
Provide process data as recommended for standard or experimental products
Research equipment to source the most appropriate solutions by focusing on cost, flexibility and efficiency
Analyze material flow to develop an efficient method for moving materials through the process efficiently while maintaining constant traceability
Assist R&D project leaders during experimental trials
Participate on development team to bring new part concepts to production
Build and maintain user requirement checklists for new equipment
Actively collaborate with the IO, OQ, PQ and validation teams
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) or equivalent manufacturing experience
3‑5 years experience in process engineering
Ability to read technical drawings
Strong math skills
Experience in AutoCAD or Solidworks is preferred
Ability to analyze drawings, manuals, materials, and processes to design or improve a manufacturing method
Proficiency with spreadsheets and word processing documents
Excellent communication skills including verbal and written documentation
Ability to implement compliance strategies at the plant level including data collection, compliance demonstrations, and process changes necessary to assure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements
Ability to identify, scope, propose, and implement capital improvement projects as assigned
Ability to work well in a team environment
Ability to present information and recommendations to customer and foster relationships with vendors
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work requires hearing, mental and visual attention
Able to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to bend and lift frequently including lifting dies and machine parts while working on processes and improvements (assistance will be available for heavy items)
