Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days, Monday - Friday Hours per Shift: 10 hours, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM Experience: - Minimum of 24 months of current operating room experience - Circulating and operating room experience required - Scrub experience highly preferred - Experience in general, robotics, pediatrics, and trauma cases required - Additional experience in neurology, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, transplants, plastics, ear, nose, throat, and vascular cases highly preferred - Trauma Level I experience highly preferred - Trauma Level II experience required - Must have completed a travel assignment within the previous 15 months License: - Active state license or compact/multistate license Certifications: - Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent Must-Have: - Skills checklist specific to the discipline listed must be completed Description: The position requires a registered nurse specializing in the operating room. The nurse will be expected to work in a fast-paced environment with an average caseload of 35-50 cases per day. Turnover times should be less than 20 minutes. The nurse will be required to scrub or circulate in the operating room. There are 16 operating rooms, with 12-14 routinely in use. This is a level 1 trauma center with service lines including cardiac, neurology, orthopedics (primarily trauma), robotics, gynecology, urology, general, pediatrics, and transplants. Call shifts will be required on weekends.
