Quality Engineer

Quality Engineer Location: Bloomfield, CT Pay Rate: $50/hr Duration: 4-6 Month Contract with Potential Extension Schedule: Onsite Position Overview We are seeking a Quality Engineer with 3-5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing environments to support both supplier quality and production quality activities. This role will be evenly split between supplier-facing quality initiatives and internal manufacturing quality support. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with PPAP processes, automotive quality systems, and core quality tools within an IATF-regulated environment. Key Responsibilities Quality & Manufacturing SupportSupport supplier quality and production quality activities within an automotive manufacturing environmentLead and manage all phases of the PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)Conduct and support PFMEA and MSA activitiesUtilize metrology equipment and measurement techniques to support inspections, validation, and quality investigationsPartner with suppliers, manufacturing, and engineering teams to identify and resolve quality concernsPerform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)Ensure compliance with IATF standards and customer-specific quality requirementsParticipate in continuous improvement and quality enhancement initiatives across operations Required Qualifications3-5 years of experience in automotive quality engineering environmentsHands-on experience managing all phases of PPAPExperience with PFMEA, MSA, and core automotive quality toolsWorking knowledge of IATF quality standardsStrong metrology and measurement experienceExperience supporting both supplier quality and production quality functionsBachelor's degree in Engineering required Preferred Engineering DisciplinesMechanical EngineeringIndustrial Engineering Preferred QualificationsASQ CQE certificationInternal or external auditing experienceStrong problem-solving and communication skillsAbility to work effectively in cross-functional manufacturing environments Work EnvironmentFully onsite position located in Bloomfield, CT4-6 month contract assignment with potential for extensionCollaborative manufacturing and engineering environment EOE (including Disability/Veterans) #HRUProfessional
