Position: Product Development Program Manager
Work Status: Hybrid - 4 days/week in office
Location: Allen Park, MI
Pay: $46.05
Position Overview
This role carries broad ownership across a single vehicle program, spanning program planning, control, studio, prototype, and launch phases. It's an individual contributor position requiring strong cross-functional alignment to drive issue closure and critical decisions. The role supports milestone/deliverable management for future launches and ongoing production, while helping meet business plan targets, launch readiness, and vehicle quality goals.
Time Allocation
30% - Change control
30% - Supplier coordination
30% - Program management / meeting leadership
10% - BOM management
Key Responsibilities
Manage and track Change Request (CR) approvals; generate CR reporting decks and track program activity
Maintain Cost Detail Document (CDD) trackers - create CDDs, verify cost capture against Finance BOM, and route for formal approval
Execute Engineering Change Management (ECM): review base vehicle ECN distributions, identify program-specific content impacts, communicate switchover timing to assembly plants, and track inventory to minimize obsolescence
Process initial and change control releases for unique supplier-owned service parts
Communicate release data to CAD team for Teamcenter 3D model updates
Lead/facilitate cross-functional meetings: Design & Function (DF), Change Control (CC), Software Change Control, and ongoing Service touchpoints
Drive Total Value Management (TVM) savings initiatives; coordinate with suppliers on action items and log savings in CRID tracking system
General program management and production support

Required Experience
3-5 years in automotive program management, product development, or engineering release
Hands-on ECN/ECM and BOM reconciliation experience
Experience aligning financial data with engineering BOMs
Demonstrated inventory tracking to minimize obsolescence during switchovers
Experience leading technical/operational meetings with cross-functional teams and external suppliers
Preferred Experience
Low-volume, performance vehicle production background
Experience with performance vehicles / Ford Racing products
Prior Design & Release or technical engineering experience
Education
Required: Bachelor's degree
Preferred: Certification program or Master's degree
