Details Night shift schedule (3x12), 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM Option to work 36 or 48 hours per week Short-term acute care hospital setting, Level I Trauma Teaching facility with 1,266 staffed beds Medical Surgical Neuro unit serving patients with general neurological and neuromuscular disorders including MS, ALS, GBS, stroke, epilepsy, infections, and tumors Patient ratio of 1:4–5 Procedures include lumbar punctures, lumbar drains, Foley catheter placement, IV starts, G-tube care, and tracheostomy management Bladder ultrasound equipment used Epic EMR — experience required Every other weekend required Floating within service line required to meet facility needs No on-call requirements Block scheduling is not available Requirements Active MO RN license or compact RN license required at time of consideration Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required Charge nurse experience required Proficiency with IV starts required Epic EMR experience required Must pass a Relias EKG exam — EKG interpretation and dysrhythmia management required General Med/Surg experience required; Level I Trauma or teaching hospital experience preferred but not required Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Navy scrubs required Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler Travelers may remain on assignment for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required Monthly parking passes are available at various nearby lots and garages; fees and availability may vary American Traveler Job ID P-687418.
