Job description
OVERVIEW
MBC Aerosol is currently seeking a motivated individual to join our Electrical Design team.
The role of a Controls Engineer will be to take industrial automation projects from an initial kick-off meeting to working completion through all of the stages of design & configuration, also when requested, be able to support existing customers by working alongside with the service team, and occasionally support the shop builders & sales with electrical questions. MBC provides Aerosol equipment to customers in the Industrial, Cosmetics & Personal Care, Pharmaceutical, and Chemical & Household Use Industries.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers & sales with a goal of achieving a high-quality product for the customer’s according to the sales writeup.
Build electrical schematics using AutoCAD/ AutoCAD Electrical to NFPA 79 standards
Specify components correctly for their application – rating, size, functionality, etc.
Put together bill of materials and work with purchasing to get items ordered & in on time
Collaborate as needed with purchasing, inventory & shipping on electrical components
Arrange components for back panel layouts with information necessary for the panel builders
Inspect enclosures to ensure they are correctly built to schematics & specifications
Be able to troubleshoot wiring (point-to-point, voltage & current) utilizing a multimeter
If needed, make small panel corrections independently & cleanly while ensuring proper wire routing, stripping, ferrules, shrink labelling, and termination
Provide an up to date drawing package inside the electrical enclosure prior to shipping
Design & program safety systems to meet the safety level requirement for the project
Program Allen Bradley Compactlogix PLC’s
Program human machine interfaces (HMI) typically with Allen Bradley FactroryTalk ME
Proficiency in PLC programming (“ladder logic”) using studio 5000
Support shop training on printing labels for wires, cables, terminal blocks & devices
Support panel builders by answering questions & providing drawing updates
Support customers when needed by collaborating with the service department team
Assist machine builders with on machine wiring questions as needed
Technical Writing for customer documentation
Maintain departmental standards and documentation
Must provide high quality design and have an attention to detail
Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
Proven communication, organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel)
Requirements:
A Degreed Electrical Engineer with min 5 yrs. Relevant experience
Hazloc environment experience (advantageous but not essential)
Exposure to Intrinsically Safe Circuitry (advantageous but not essential) intuitive approach to programming and HMI layout
Pneumatic Logic circuit design (advantageous but not essential)
Rare travel maybe required (typically less than 5%)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
