Poonam KhandelwalEmail: Cell: (732) 797-9766Job Title: Energy Project Manager(On W2)Location: Albany,NY (Remote)Duration: 12 Months Years of Experience: 5+yrsRequired Hours/Week: 35 Hours/WeekJob Overview:Writing and editing communications deliverables as part of implementing a comprehensive, strategic and proactive corporate communications program that builds public awareness of Client mission and accomplishments.Will assist in integrating and coordinating Corporate Communications activities, supporting content creation and management of and approvals for earned media deliverables and announcements for internal and external audiences in support of Authority-wide programs and initiatives.Skills:This position requires a broad range of skills, with strong experience in writing, editing, public and media relations, and internal and external communications.Must be a motivated self-starter with strong project management skills, adaptable to working independently or as part of a team, and able to prioritize multiple projects while working in a fast-paced environment.The ideal candidate fosters strong collaborations and maintain an awareness and understanding of complex issues affecting Client, New York State and the energy industrySpecialized Skills:Ability to perform all responsibilities with demonstrated experience fostering respect, diversity, equity, and inclusion across the workforce.Excellent work ethic, resolute integrity, detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering a high-quality and accurate work product, with a track record of putting the success of the team first.Ability to assess potential effects of Client decisions on public attitudes, effectively apprise Assistant Director of Communications and Director of Communications of such factors, and help inform decision-making.Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including executives in Client, and colleagues in other state agencies and industry organizations.Excellent journalistic, presentation, and interpersonal skills that resonate with a variety of audiences; ability to communicate persuasively, concisely, and unambiguously in speech and in writing.The ability to express complex technical and organizational concepts in terms understandable to the news media and public; track record of creative and proactive approaches for pitching news stories.Strong project management skills: ability to work well under pressure and a respect for internal and external deadlines; manage multiple diverse activities simultaneously, deliver on commitments and varying deadlines, and operate/make decisions with speed, accuracy, and strong judgment.Strong computer skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Asana, etc.)Education, Certifications, Degree requirements:Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years’ experience in the clean energy sector.Required: Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years’ related experience in journalism, communications, public relations, or related field or experience directly working in a corporate or government communications or public relations department.IT systems that will be used : Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Asana, among others.Tasks:Develop an in-depth understanding of a variety of program areas and help manage content including writing, editing, and managing approvals for press releases, op-eds, talking points, and other documents to support public and media relations efforts.Help ensure consistency of vision and tone across all Communications deliverables to develop content that builds public awareness of Clientprograms and accomplishments.Identify opportunities to expand Clientearned media reach by monitoring and analyzing trends; help inform internal reporting on the same.Help establish best practices with content creation workflow and processes; help inform internal reporting on the same.Work closely with management to provide recommendations and guidance on creating content to support public relations efforts for Client programs and policies with the goal of achieving positive feedback among external and internal constituencies.Work jointly with the Corporate Communications team to ensure that all items meet the highest professional standards of accuracy, clarity, and style. Liaise with internal departments including marketing, web, and social media to ensure consistency of message.Build networks within Client, and at NY Green Bank and other energy and environment agencies.Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
