Job Description & Requirements Specialty: School RN Discipline: RN Start Date: 04/27/2026 Duration: 43 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Credentialed School Nurse (RN) – Itinerant School Assignment Location: Montague, CA 96064 Home Office: Yreka, CA Position Type: School‑Year Contract Schedule: 8:30 AM – 3:10 PM (30‑minute unpaid lunch) Paid Hours: 7.5 hours/day (8‑hour schedule) The nurse will deliver state‑mandated school health services and support students, staff, and families through clinical care, education, and compliance activities. Efforts will be made to assign schools close to the home office in Yreka, CA . Key Responsibilities Provide state‑mandated school nursing services across multiple districts Conduct hearing and vision screenings Administer and oversee medication management per physician orders Provide CPR and medication administration training to school staff Participate in IEP assessments and meetings Support Special Education and SDC programs Assist with health education , including sex education as required Maintain accurate student health records and documentation Collaborate with educators, administrators, parents, and healthcare providers Travel between assigned school sites as part of an itinerant schedule Required Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) license – California School Nurse Credential (or ability to obtain) Experience working with pediatric and school‑aged populations preferred Strong communication, organization, and independent work skills Credential Pending Credential‑pending candidates may be considered Initial duties may include administrative tasks only , with no direct student contact About Hanker Systems Inc Healthcare staffing at Hanker Systems Inc is focused on delivering the right talent to support quality patient care.
