Big Canyon Country Club is a private country club that fosters a culture focused on the growth and development of its team, all while providing the best in hospitality and experiences for its members and their families.Job Title: Lifeguard (Part Time)Reports To: Aquatics SupervisorPay Rate: $21.00 Per hourPosition SummaryBig Canyon Country Club is seeking attentive, professional, proactive Lifeguards to ensure the safety and enjoyment of members and their families throughout the summer pool season. This role combines vigilant supervision, emergency procedure readiness, and the ability to provide high quality member service in a private club environment.Season & ScheduleSeason runs from Memorial Day weekend through Labor DayTypical shifts:Monday-Friday: 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.Saturday-Sunday: 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. and 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.Weekend, evening, and holiday availability required.Must be available for the entire pool season.Participation in recreational and aquatic activities as part of daily operations. Lifeguard Responsibilities:Maintain constant, attentive surveillance of the pool and surrounding areas to ensure the safety of all members, guests, and staffEnforce all facility rules, policies, and safety regulations consistently and professionallyPre-employment testing of lifeguarding skills and knowledgeRecognize, respond to, and manage emergencies with confidence, including administering first aid and lifesaving careAct proactively to prevent unsafe situations before they occurDeliver a courteous, professional, and service-oriented experience, especially when interacting with children and familiesCommunicate clearly and effectively with team members and supervisors regarding safety concerns or incidentsParticipate in regular training sessions, drills, and in-service meetingsSupport daily operations and perform additional duties as assigned (i.e picking up towels, and overall general tidiness of the pool deck) Qualifications & Physical Requirements:Current Lifeguard & First Aid Certification from American Red Cross (or similar organization)Strong swimming ability required.Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.Frequent bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, and reaching overhead.Ability to lift and assist children and move light equipment.Comfortable working in indoor and outdoor environments, including sun exposure for long periods of time.
