Adventure Playground at HB Central Park: Ideal candidates must possess effective and cooperative communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to relate to a diverse group of people. Under supervision, assists in planning, promoting and implementing of Adventure Playground programs; assists in collection of donations of materials and prepares sites for daily activities. Aquatics at HB City Gym & Pool: (These positions are for individuals interested in training to potentially become Lifeguards and/or Water Safety Instructors.) Ideal candidates must possess effective and cooperative communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to relate to a diverse group of people. Under supervision, provides program information, customer service both in person and over the telephone, may collect fee or donations for recreation programs, perform equipment set-up and break-down; and perform a variety of routine and semi-skilled tasks including but not limited to the following: Respond to customer inquiries, provide information regarding community programs; register customers for recreational activities, plan, direct and coordinate activities and special events. Individuals in this assignment will also receive training in the following areas: How to conduct swimming lessons and lifesaving classes; how to provide lifeguarding duties, patrol pool decks, and assist pool manager/aquatics supervisor in the complete safety of pool operation, and other related work. Hourly pay for Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor roles ranges from $17.24 to $24.53. Training dates for 2026 are as follows: Lifeguard:February 7th & 8thApril 11th & 12thAdditional dates may be added as needed Water Safety Instructor:February 21st & 22ndApril 18th & 19th Art Camp at HB Art Center: Ideal candidates possess effective and cooperative communication and interpersonal skills and work well in a variety of environments. Excellent customer service skills and people skills are required. The incumbent will be assigned to work weekdays, morning to afternoon at the Art Center from the end of June through the first week of August. Typical duties include setting up the studio classroom, checking participants in and out, assisting teaching artists with art lessons, and coordinating monitored outdoor creative and recreation activities during breaks. Day Camp: The ideal candidate must possess effective and cooperative communication and interpersonal skills and work well in a variety of environments. Excellent customer service skills and people skills are required. Candidate must be able to work the hours/days of camp: Camp hours: 7:30 AM-6:00 PM Monday through Friday, June 15th to August 21st . With direction of the Summer Day Camp Coordinator: Responds to customer inquiries.Disseminates information regarding the Summer Day Camp Program.Assists with planning and coordination of Summer Day Camp activities.Provides supervision of participants on excursions including overseeing the safety of participants.Candidates will be required to attend mandatory training June 3, 2026 - June 6, 2026. Minimum Qualifications Education & Experience: Some high school and previous experience or related training required. Volunteer service or school-related experience is accepted and should be reflected in the application. Certifications: CPR/First Aid Certificates must be obtained within three (3) months of appointment. The SALARY RANGE is composed of seven steps. Merit step increases are based on satisfactory performance.
