Job DescriptionReconstruction EstimatorLocation: Los Angeles, CaliforniaCompensation: $85,000 - $100,000 Base (DOE)Benefits: Full Benefits Package + Company Vehicle + Gas Card + Toll PassIndustry: Property Restoration - Reconstruction (Commercial & Residential)Work Model: Field + Office HybridPosition OverviewWe are representing a well-established restoration contractor in the Los Angeles market seeking a Reconstruction Estimator with proven experience in both commercial and residential rebuild projects post mitigation.This role is responsible for accurately scoping, estimating, and securing reconstruction work following fire, water, and property loss events. The ideal candidate understands insurance-driven workflows, communicates effectively with adjusters and property stakeholders, and can confidently build estimates using Xactimate and Time & Materials (T&M) methodologies.This is not an entry-level role. We are seeking a professional with stable tenure and a track record of delivering accurate, defensible estimates that convert into profitable projects.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct on-site inspections for residential and commercial reconstruction projectsDevelop detailed, line-item estimates using XactimateBuild and manage T&M estimates where appropriateCollaborate with project managers, operations teams, and subcontractors to ensure scope alignmentReview adjuster feedback and revise estimates as neededNegotiate scope and pricing with carriers and third-party administratorsEnsure all estimates are complete, defensible, and aligned with company margin targetsSupport job costing and change order documentationMaintain clear documentation within project management systemPreferred BackgroundExperience in restoration-related reconstruction (fire, water, storm)Familiarity with Los Angeles permitting and local market pricingKnowledge of job costing and margin controlWhat Success Looks LikeAccurate, defensible estimates that convert efficientlyStrong adjuster relationshipsMinimal estimate revisions due to scope errorsProjects meeting or exceeding margin targetsClear documentation that supports smooth project executionRequirementsMinimum 3 years of reconstruction estimating experience (commercial and residential required)Proficient in Xactimate (advanced level preferred)Strong working knowledge of T&M estimatingExperience navigating insurance claim environmentsStable work history with strong professional tenureSolid understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencingAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and negotiation skillsBenefitsCompensation & BenefitsBase Salary: $85,000 - $100,000 (DOE)Full benefits package (medical, dental, vision)Company vehicleGas cardToll passPTO and paid holidays
