Acute Care CNA/Clerk

We are currently looking for a Full Time Acute Care CNA/Clerk to join our Acute Care Team located at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center.Summary:Provides basic nursing services to these beneficiaries in the Acute Care Departments.Responsibilities:* Maintains confidentiality, security, and integrity of data and information in accordance with HIPAA regulations* Records care given and reports patient care observations* Maintains and documents intake and output* Prepares shift reports* Performs Certified Nurse Assistant duties as assigned- Takes direction from charge nurse and primary nurse- Takes and records vital signs and reports abnormal results to the primary nurse- Performs finger stick blood sugars and reports to primary nurse- Assists patients with personal hygiene activities- Assists patients with meals and toileting- Assists patients with ambulation and bedside commode- Lifts and turns patients as ordered- Prepares room and bed for patients- Strips bed and cleans equipment from room upon discharge of patient- Responsible for cleaning dirty equipment and bedside commode after patient use* Ensures unit coverage for meals and breaks.* Maintains a safe and clean environment, and ensures adequate supplies* Attends periodic staff meetings and training as recommended* Coordinates with other team members to ensure that meaningful hourly rounding is completed.* Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types- Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner- Greets and engages with a smile- Determines needs, seeks positive experience and outcomes* Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities* Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types- Maintains general upkeep of work area and maintains a safe environment- Maintains and promotes professionalism- Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics- Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards* Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.* Performs all other duties as assignedCompetencies:Essential:* Able to follow instructions, both written and oral* Able to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements* Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability* Able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines* Possess basic knowledge of medical terminology* Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and managementSkills:Essential:* Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills, including the ability to interface with and influence associates at diverse levels with different backgrounds and perspectives* Basic Computer skills* Skilled in operating a computer and/or other equipment related to specific role (i.e. automated currency counters, calculator, projector, binding machine, other related office equipment)* Skilled in maintaining excellent phone etiquette by ensuring prompt, courteous, and professional responses to all incoming calls and text messagesExperience:Essential:* 1 year directly related experienceEducation:Essential:* High School, GED or Equivalent* Completed an approved CNA training programCredentials:Essential:* Pass general background check* Basic Life Support (BLS)* Certified Nurse Assistant* Long Term Care AideEssential:* Must maintain BLS certification, or obtain within one month of hire, if not currentWorking Conditions:Essential:* Works in a hospital or clinic environment* Stressful environment due to any or a combination of deadlines, pressures, multiple tasks, lines of communication, risks, speed of operations, etc.* May be required to assist individuals with unmanaged emotions* May be required to assist individuals who are hostile, agitated or under the influence* Potential exposure to contagious diseases* Frequently bend, kneel, stoop, push, reach* Frequently assist with lifting patients* Constantly lift and or carry over 50 lbs* Standing up to 100% of shift* Walking up to 100% of shift* Pass pre-employment drug testTraining*It is the responsibility of each employee to attend required training for their position or profession as determined by their line of support (LOS) or the leadership of the Chickasaw Nation.
