The successful candidate will be the senior employment law subject-matter expert, providing strategic advice on all employment-related legal issues. This role is pivotal in setting the employment law strategy for the organization, which operates in a complex, highly regulated, and rapidly-evolving environment. The Executive Director will be responsible for ensuring that the company's employment practices are in compliance with the law, and will provide pragmatic, business-oriented counsel that is in line with public company obligations and risk tolerance. Collaboration with the General Counsel, and close partnership with HR, Compliance, Finance, and other senior business leaders, is essential.Applicants must have a J.D. degree and a minimum of 14 years' of employment law experience, with a strong background in U.S. employment law, including employee relations, investigations, and public company reporting. A combination of top-tier law firm and in-house experience is required, with a preference for those who have worked in biotech, life sciences, or other highly regulated industries. The role demands a professional who can navigate the intricacies of employment law in a way that is both legally sound and aligned with the company's business objectives.
