Job Description
Job purposeWe are seeking An experienced Assistant Project Manager in AZ and CA. Assistant Project Managers helps the Project Manager oversee all phases of a construction project from preconstruction to completion in an efficient, profitable, and safe manner. Ensure communication between PM and on-site employees as well as subcontractors, vendors, clients, and administrative staff involved in the project.Duties and responsibilitiesGeneral CompanyAssist Project Manager in all job and administrative duties.Assist the Project Manager in managing the financial and budgetary commitment of the job to ensure profit.Represent Colt in a professional manner to the client.Lead and be the example to others representing Colt Focus Five values.Work with the Safety Department to improve safety for all employees on the job site.Actively work to increase job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.SafetyEnsure compliance with the Colt SSSP, standard Colt safe practices, and Colt clean, and take corrective action when necessary.Perform or delegate the performance of job specific employee orientation and safety training.Ensure and participate in the performance of all Colt required safety documentation.Report and investigate all incidents involving Colt Builders' employees, subcontractor employees, and Colt contract work.Monitor and report work activities of other trades to ensure they do not create safety hazards for Colt Builders' employees.Conduct and/or delegate weekly safety meetings with Colt Builders' employees and subcontractor employees, and review safety issues encountered at the site.Project Award / Pre-ConReview JSI and RFI logsParticipate in Preconstruction handoff meeting.Have knowledge of estimate and final budget.Have knowledge of and implement the Job Start-up sheet.Have knowledge of the contract Scope of Work.Have knowledge of customer SOV based on building sectionsLearn to develop a framing schedule.Have knowledge of the man-hour budget and/or subcontractor SOV & payment scheduleHave knowledge of the subcontractor site specific contract and exhibits Assist in creating and administering an overall job build plan.Have knowledge of material takeoff and "where used" list.Review shop drawings for all components for accuracy and efficiency.Have knowledge of supplier submittal & delivery scheduleSetup onsite storage and office if necessaryAssist Project Manager with scheduling ship dates with suppliers.Help set up Site Specific Safety Plan.Have knowledge of a job's Management Roles and responsibilities planHelp create jobsite binders.Project OperationsAssist the Project Manager in the administration of the job build plan.Assist in managing client expectations in coordination with client's field team.Have total knowledge and understanding of the job's estimate, schedule, budget, site plans, site logistics, management needs, site access, scheduling/ordering of cranes, man lifts, forklifts, and rigging.Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve emerging ones. Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks.Assist in meeting contractual conditions for the job and ensure quality construction standards are followed.Assist in the management of ASIs, change orders, and extra work.Help to maintain RFI log and JSI log.Review work progress and safety standards daily.Order all materials and components in alignment with the PO.Help maintain Fieldwire plan updates and task assignments.Help to order and monitor tools and equipment needed for production.Assist in managing the need and execution of subcontractor and employee labor.Help coordinate the ordering and monitor the use of all materials and components.Project AdminAssist Project Manager in all administrative duties.Sign off on vendor change orders $0 - $5,000.Assist Project Manager in gathering and submission of data required, to complete WIP reporting.Collect, review, and send to office weekly timesheet and new hire information.Gather hours/expenses/subcontractor billing for the Project ManagerCollect and turn in receiving slips to Project ManagerAssist Project Manager in all hiring, training, terminations, and job review decisions related to job site.Participation in client and Colt required jobsite meetings.Qualifications*Ability to perform duties/activities of workers supervised*Have knowledge of and experience in construction site management.Proficient in communication and organizational skillsAdvanced plan reading skillsProficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and FieldwireAdvanced safety knowledge and performanceCPR/AED CertifiedOSHA 30 hourSTSC CertifiedBenefitsCompetitive weekly pay – depending on experience.Paid time offLife Insurance/ AD&D and Short-term disability fully covered by the company.Health, Dental, Vision Plans401k Plan with match and Roth Plan Option------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------About Colt Builders Corp.Founded in 2004, Colt Builders is a turnkey multi-family commercial wood-framing partner with national reach and local management.
