Surgical Technologist (Surg Tech)

Job Responsibilities:The Surgical Technologist 1 demonstrates knowledge and practice of basic patient care concepts. Demonstrates basic surgical case preparation skills.Demonstrates responsible behavior as a health care professional.Demonstrates the ability to perform the role of the first scrub on all basic surgical cases. Demonstrates the application of the principles of asepsis.Demonstrates the application of the principles of aseptic techniqueIdentifies variances from expected outcomes and responds to changes in patient needs.May perform additional duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Surgical Technologists 1 :High School diploma or equivalentPreferred: Recent Hospital experience and/or previous practice experienceRegistered in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Surgical Technologist at time of hireBasic Life Support form AHA required upon start.Surgical Technologists 2High School diploma or equivalent2 years of Surgical Technologist experienceRegistered in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Surgical Technologist at time of hireBasic Life Support form AHA required upon start.Surgical Technologists 3High School diploma or equivalent1 Year Surg Tech experience or equivalentRegistered in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Surgical Technologist at time of hireCertified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) via NCCT required upon start.
