Development & Construction Manager
The Development & Construction Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of hospitality development and construction projects from design through opening. This role manages relationships with architects, designers, engineers, consultants, contractors, vendors, and ownership teams to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with brand standards, design intent, and operational requirements. Coordinate communication between ownership, design teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure project alignment and execution. Review design and construction documents to ensure compliance with project objectives, brand standards, and operational requirements. Oversee General Contractors, FF&E vendors, suppliers, and specialty contractors through project completion. Monitor construction progress through site visits and project meetings, ensuring quality, safety, schedule, and budget adherence. Manage permitting, approvals, inspections, and occupancy processes. Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, and opening timelines to ensure timely project delivery. Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving issues that may impact schedules, budgets, or quality. Prepare and manage development and construction budgets, including bids, contracts, change orders, and cost controls. Provide regular project status, budget, and schedule updates to ownership and leadership teams. Ensure compliance with hospitality brand standards, design requirements, and technical specifications through project opening. Serve as the primary liaison among ownership, consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Foster collaborative relationships and provide leadership to support successful project execution. QualificationsBachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, Real Estate Development, or a related field. Minimum 8 years of experience in hospitality development, design, and/or construction management. Experience working with hotel brands, owners, developers, contractors, and consultants. Strong knowledge of construction documents, building systems, project delivery methods, and applicable building codes. Proven experience managing project budgets, schedules, contracts, and consultant relationships. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD, and Smartsheet. Professional certifications, architectural registration, or engineering licensure preferred. Excellent leadership, communication, project management, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
