The Senior Mine Engineer works with technical, operations, and support staff to develop and optimize life of mine and short-term planning activities for the Company. The successful candidate will be responsible for mine engineering standards and assist in mentoring other Mine Engineers. This person will help to develop and ensure alignment with the Company's strategy to develop its projects and mine its deposits, while ensuring adherence to mining regulations and industry best practices.Location: 5190 Neil Road, Suite 460, Reno, NV 89502 with regular travel to all mines and projectsResponsibilities:Develop mine and infrastructure designs and schedules for multiple projects in all stages of development and productionProvide constructive feedback for geologic and resource modelsWork closely with permitting specialists to produce robust project development strategiesDevelopment and implementation of safe, practical underground and open pit life of mine and short-term plans that facilitate orderly exploitation of mineral reserves and resourcesCollaborate with and mentor other Mine Engineers within the CompanyOptimize mining methods including investigation of new methods and equipment to improve efficiencies and control costsBenchmark unit mining costs against other operations and shared information from the industryProvide technical guidance and support to ensure that equipment selection, drilling and blasting, ventilation, pumping, and ground control programs are implemented, monitored, and improved at all sitesWork closely with Mine Geology and Operations to control ore grade and minimize dilution using best practice mine designs, planning, and execution by operationsPartner in developing life of mine planning and support for operational and development activities in other areasDevelop and make recommendations for implementation of new techniques to reduce non-value-added activities and to remove waste.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mine or Geological Engineering or a related disciplineSeven (7) or more years of engineering experience in underground and open pit minesApplied experience using software for mine mapping and modeling such as MineSite, Vulcan-Maptek, iGantt-Minemax or similar to create mine designs, plans, and schedulesDemonstrated knowledge of mining and processing operations.This unique position requires an experienced mine engineer who is seeking a highly visible and influential role in a growing company.How to Apply:Please refer to the Careers page on our website for instructions on how to apply.
