Full-Time601 Children's LaneInpatient NursingNights33.0100 Through 49.5200* GENERAL SUMMARY* Plans, provides, and monitors individualized nursing care in response to specific patient needs within a defined scope of practice; following established policies, procedures, and regulations. Supports a defined population program or service. Reports to departmental management.* ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* Provides developmentally appropriate, high acuity psychosocial and clinical care respective to the assigned patient population.* Demonstrates excellence in nursing practice characterized by quality patient care and participation in formal and informal patient and staff education.* Communicates and collaborates effectively with all members of the healthcare team.* Performs other duties as assigned.* LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS* Current Virginia state license as a Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license.* RN certification preferred.* MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS* Must have an Associates in Nursing/Diploma in Nursing with applicable experience. BSN is preferred.* Pediatric experience preferred.* If in the infusion clinic, minimum of 1 year experience in Hematology/Oncology preferred.* CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.* PALS training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire for infusion clinic; within 6 months for inpatient.* APHON Pediatric Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Status preferred or must be obtained within 120 days of hire.* WORKING CONDITIONS* Expected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as, but not limited to, excessive noise, dust, or extremes in temperatures.
