As part of a small, collaborative Appian delivery pod, you will report to the Lead/Senior Software Developer and work closely with other developers, testers, and a business analyst.This is an excellent opportunity for hands-on developers who want meaningful build work and ownership of application modules, without the overhead of leading a team.The role is based in the DMV area with a hybrid work arrangement, requiring onsite presence as the program ramps up. U.S. citizenship and an active Public Trust or Secret clearance are required. WHAT YOU'LL DOBuild and configure Appian applications, including process models, interfaces, and integrationsTake ownership of specific modules within the larger application, from design through deliveryIncorporate feedback from code reviews and continuously improve code quality with minimal supervisionSupport testing and defect resolution in collaboration with the QA teamParticipate in Agile ceremonies such as standups, sprint planning, and demosCollaborate closely with other developers, testers, and business analysts within the delivery podEnsure compliance with federal security and clearance requirements throughout the development lifecycleContribute to the modernization of HR systems for federal agencies, delivering steady and meaningful build workWHAT YOU BRINGBachelor's degreeU.S. citizenshipActive Public Trust or Secret clearance3-7+ years of software development experience, with hands-on Appian experience requiredAbility to build and configure Appian applications, including process models, interfaces, and integrationsStrong ownership of application modules from design through deliveryAbility to incorporate feedback from code reviews independently and improve code qualityExperience supporting testing and defect resolution with QA teamsParticipation in Agile ceremonies such as standups, sprint planning, and demosExperience with integrations, APIs, databases, and Agile delivery (preferred)Appian Associate or Senior Developer certification (preferred)#LI-EK1
