Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Description Position OverviewOur client is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to support their finance team in managing day-to-day payables operations. This role is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, and supporting overall financial accuracy.This position plays a key role in keeping financial operations running smoothly and requires a high level of attention to detail, organization, and accountability.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess invoices and verify accuracy of payment detailsReconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepanciesMaintain accurate records of expenses and accounts payable transactionsPerform data entry and ensure proper documentation within accounting systemsManage payment processes including check runs and electronic payments (ACH)Prepare and support journal entries related to accounts payableReconcile accounts to ensure accuracy in financial reportingCommunicate with vendors to resolve payment issues and maintain strong relationshipsSupport internal teams with invoice and payment-related inquiriesAssist with additional accounting tasks and projects as neededQualifications3+ years of accounts payable experience preferredAssociate degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent experience)Experience with accounting or accounts payable softwareStrong Microsoft Excel skills and overall technical proficiencyHigh attention to detail with strong organizational skillsEffective communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlinesSolid understanding of basic accounting principles and reconciliationsCompany DescriptionMilliner Talent Solutions is an Indianapolis-based staffing partner specializing in Accounting, Finance, HR, Administrative, and Customer Service talent.
