Staff Accountant | AP/AR
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-focused Staff Accountant (AP/AR Specialist) to support our finance team. This position is responsible for overseeing both accounts payable and accounts receivable activities while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with established procedures. The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work comfortably with financial systems and data.Primary ResponsibilitiesReconcile corporate credit card activity and ensure transactions are accurately recordedComplete bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies as neededGenerate, review, and distribute customer invoices in a timely mannerPost customer payments and actively monitor aging reports to support timely collectionsServe as a point of contact for vendor and customer inquiries, responding promptly and professionallyMaintain thorough and up-to-date records for vendor and customer accountsProcess accounts payable invoices and ensure payments are issued accurately and on scheduleReview AP and AR reports to identify trends, exceptions, or inconsistenciesSupport month-end and year-end close efforts, including journal entries and account reconciliationsAssist with internal and external audits by preparing requested documentationPartner with payroll teams as needed (payroll exposure is a plus)Provide bilingual communication support when applicable (Spanish language skills are a plus)Required Skills & QualificationsHands-on experience using QuickBooks Desktop for accounts payable and receivable functionsIntermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data review and reportingWorking knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and OutlookStrong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentSolid analytical and problem-solving skillsEffective written and verbal communication capabilitiesPreferred QualificationsPrior experience supporting payroll processesBilingual in English and SpanishAssociate’s degree or higher in Accounting or a related field
