Network Engineer

*Job Overview* We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Network Engineer to join our innovative IT team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a broad range of network technologies and contribute to the seamless operation of our enterprise network environment. *Responsibilities* * Design, configure, and optimize network infrastructure including LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), VPN (Virtual Private Network), MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching), and SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) protocols. * Manage and support network hardware such as Cisco routers, switches, ASA firewalls, Meraki devices, Juniper equipment, and other networking equipment. * Implement and maintain network security measures including Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine), PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), firewalls, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), VPNs, encryption protocols, and cloud security solutions like AWS. * Troubleshoot complex network issues related to equipment failures, configuration errors, or connectivity problems using tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Splunk, and SolarWinds. * Perform regular vulnerability assessments and ensure high availability through load balancing, redundancy strategies, and high-availability configurations in data centers or cloud environments. * Configure and support network protocols including TCP/IP, DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), DNS (Domain Name System), BGP (Border Gateway Protocol), EIGRP (Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol), OSPF (Open Shortest Path First), and MPLS. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system design projects involving virtualization platforms like VMware vSphere or Hyper-V; support operating systems including Windows Server, Linux distributions such as Ubuntu or CentOS; and utilize scripting languages like Bash or PowerShell for automation. * Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps; ensure compliance with security policies and standards. *Experience* * Proven experience in computer networking with a strong understanding of network architecture design and implementation across enterprise environments. * Hands-on expertise with Cisco networking hardware including routers, switches, ASA firewalls; familiarity with Meraki cloud-managed devices is preferred. * Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex network hardware issues and perform system administration tasks in diverse operating systems such as Windows Server, Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS/Red Hat), Solaris or BSD variants. * Experience managing VPN configurations including IPsec VPNs for secure remote access; knowledge of SFTP/FTP/SSH protocols is essential. * Skilled in using network management tools like SolarWinds or PRTG for monitoring network health; experience with vulnerability assessment tools like Splunk is advantageous. * Strong understanding of network security principles including SSO (Single Sign-On), LDAP integration, GPO (Group Policy Objects), encryption techniques, load balancing strategies, and high availability architectures. * Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or openSUSE virtualization environments; experience supporting telecommunication systems and data center operations is a plus.
