DescriptionSUMMARYAs an O&M Field Technician you will be responsible for performing and overseeing the operations, maintenance and repair of wind turbines while ensuring all work is performed in a safe and efficient manner. Other requirements include:Must live within 45 miles of site location (Jefferson, IA)Ability to climb ladders up to heights of 300+ feetMust not exceed 280 lbs. for safety of employeeWork in confined spaces with diverse environmental conditionsAbility to lift up to 80 poundsPossess a valid driver's licenseRequired overnight travel for safety training and other required activitiesMajor components / Up tower gearbox repair / Gen bearing replacements / Borescoping / InspectionsContributes to team effort and maintains quality serviceKeeps fully informed of current developments in wind industry, regulations and Company proceduresMust always be on hand and ready to perform additional related assigned tasksRequirementsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS/COMPETENCIESTo perform the essential functions of this position successfully, an individual should be able to demonstrate and provide the following:HS Diploma or GED equivalent requiredSecondary education highly preferredTwo (2) – five (5) years of functional experience in Wind Energy (or) related industry experience preferredKnowledge in Word, Excel, and Outlook and the ability and willingness to learn new software applicationsExcellent organizational skills, communication skills, the ability to multi-task and most importantly, the ability to work well in a team • Demonstrated openness to change, flexibility and adaptabilityStrong analytical thinker with the ability to resolve complex issuesSelf-starter with a drive for continuous improvement of the business operationsExpress willingness to step out of the box to assist other teams to meet and overcome challenges for the companyWORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThis position is largely self-directed and requires understanding of company policy, procedures, and values. Team members will be required to adhere to all safety requirements in all work environments. This position operates in a field & shop environment.Full Time position up to 40 hours per week; may require occasional overtime as neededSpecific physical requirements include:On feet for approximately 90% of the time while workingRegularly lifting weights of fifty (50) pounds and up to one hundred (100) pounds occasionallySome travel occasional; possibly overnight at timesTAKKION is an equal opportunity employerJ-18808-Ljbffr
