Job Title: CADD Technician IILocation: alt Lake City, UT (Hybrid)Estimated Duration: FulltimeCAD Designer / Pipeline Drafting TechnicianJob SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Designer / Pipeline Drafting Technician to support gas distribution and pipeline infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for preparing and modifying piping, mechanical fabrication, and civil/site drawings used for construction, maintenance, and engineering support activities. The ideal candidate will have experience with CAD software, strong technical drawing interpretation skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare piping and mechanical fabrication drawings, civil site plans, grading plans, and pipeline alignment/profile drawings for gas distribution projects.Assist with the design and drafting of gate stations, meter and regulator stations, and related pipeline facilities.Coordinate assigned projects, track progress, and provide drawing review updates and status reports.Research and compile facility data for modifications to existing infrastructure.Support engineering, construction, and operations teams by providing accurate facility mapping and pipeline information.Interpret and update as-built drawings, field notes, and survey information.Communicate with internal stakeholders, engineering firms, contractors, and external agencies regarding facility and drawing information.Maintain drawing accuracy and ensure compliance with company and industry drafting standards.Participate in occasional field visits to gather project data and verify site conditions.Required QualificationsAssociate degree or certificate in Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) or related field, or equivalent professional experience.0–2+ years of drafting or design experience in utilities, pipelines, civil, or industrial projects.Proficiency with CAD software including AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, alignment sheets, and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).Basic understanding of surveying principles, right-of-way concepts, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments with minimal supervision.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Autodesk Vault, CADWorx P&ID, Vehicle Tracking, or Adobe Acrobat Pro.Exposure to gas distribution, utility, or pipeline infrastructure projects.Familiarity with construction drawing packages and field verification processes.Work EnvironmentHybrid work schedule based in Salt Lake City, Utah.Combination of office, remote, and occasional field work environments.Periodic travel to project sites, including overnight stays when necessary.Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and navigate uneven terrain.Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required to support project deadlines.Please note that compensation, responsibilities, and project scope may vary based on client needs.
