Supply Chain Analyst (Material Planner)

BASIC FUNCTIONIn this role, you will coordinate with our production planning and customer service teams to optimize inventory and support plant operations. You will develop and execute our supply plan and releases, determining priorities and implementing strategies to reduce out-of-stock and excess stock issues. You will also help support our production schedule, taking into consideration the forecasted demand for finished items and our raw material needs.ESSENTIAL ResponsibilitiesMaintain a long-term supply schedule/plan, taking into consideration the needs forecasted by our production planning teamResolve material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptionsRequest recovery plan if suppliers fall behind schedule and meet with suppliers to ensure plan is successfully implementedUse root cause analysis methods to help develop and implement workable solutions to support on time deliveries to support production requirementsAdvise suppliers of proper shipping methods to meet delivery deadlinesUtilize SAP tools to execute supplier schedules and monitor delivery for 100% on-time deliveryDaily interaction and communication with other functional areas purchasing, supplier quality, production scheduling, and customer service.Track inventory of raw materials and optimize materials to avoid excess inventory levelsCreate and develop reports to analyze the health of supply base and develop strategies to continuously improve KPI’sUnderstand and adhere to current health, safety, and environmental policiesCommunicate and enforce safe work procedures.Essential DutiesSend EDI release to suppliers after maintenance and updatesExecution of exception messagingRun and manage inbound supplier delivery reportReview and tracking inbound/outbound shipmentsDaily communication to vendors on delivery ETA’s and critical needsLevel supplier schedules and split loads for high volume partsManual schedules to suppliers/warehouses where necessaryReview and mitigate risk to plan on production demand increases/decreasesUpdate supplier delivery dates in SAP as necessaryManage supplier shipping portalsManage various material requirements reports upon requestCommunication of missing components to support production and notify of potential impactsMange material run out/impact reports for suppliers and internal teamsUpdate/maintain in transit sheets and tracking of material ETA’sSupplier backlog tracking/communicationSupplier OTD reportingRaw inventory forecastingTariff reporting and supportSupport internal team with the engineering change management processSupport New Product Launch TeamMaterial master data maintenanceSetup expedited freight for critical supplier materials when necessaryManage consignment consumptions reports for suppliers/accountingProvide packing slips and paperwork for receiving needs when necessarySAP Scheduling agreement setting updates and maintenanceProvide quality support on current vendor issues and sort/holdsQualificationsThis position requires an associate degree or equivalent work experienceExperience in a manufacturing environment preferredMust be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures regarding planning and scheduling.A certain degree of creativity, experience and judgment is required to plan and accomplish goals Ability to perform a variety of complex tasks simultaneously.Must have working knowledge and MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point).Must have working knowledge of MR/ERP systems and planning toolsPossess ability to communicate verbally and maintain concise and accurate written documentation. Effective listening skills are required.
