As a member of the operations team, the senior engineer position manages a variety of routine and non-routinemechanical testingprojects within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. The senior engineer position must be proficient in a number of core business and technical skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.Salary: $70,000 - $120,000/yr DOEResponsibilitiesManage the entirety of multiplemechanical testing programs:Aerospace and/or medical deviceProvide technical and engineering leadership, and supports the development of new technologies within a local laboratoryBe accountable foraccurate and timely release of testing datato customers including sign-offs of quality control data as acceptableBe expected to obtain guidance innon-routine situation testingHave the ability to oversee standard and/or routine technicalproblem solvingactivitiesInteract with customers on technical issues and questionsProvide Input and support on business development opportunities with new or existing customersBe confident in making both formal and informal presentations on conventional and/or routine testing to a wide range of stakeholdersAssist in the professional development of novice technicians and engineers within the local laboratoryCarry out crucial examination and implementation of testing concepts and dataUtilize an assortment of skill, methods, procedures and materials in advanced testing analysisBe adept at drawing on internal knowledge as well as industry and/or academic resources in reaching testing conclusionsSkills / QualificationsPossess aBachelors of Science degree in an Engineering discipline
Have aminimum of 4 years' pertinent post degree engineering experience , or advanced academic/professional qualifications
Must have Materials Testing experience:Fatigue testing utilizing MTS or Instron
Working knowledge of laboratory safety
Possess a high level of expertise related to scope, core theories, concepts, terminologies and boundaries of chosen engineering discipline
In-depth understanding of testing concepts
Can analyze and compiles testing data from the tests performed
Familiar with ASTM testing Standards
Familiar with orthopedic implants and surgical procedures
Able to operate a variety of mechanical test machines
