Payment Ops Specialist - Customer Service - Banking & FintechClassification: ExemptSummaryThis role includes monitoring payments, handling exceptions, and resolving payment processing issues efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payment operations, regulatory requirements, and experience with payment processing systems.Essential Functions/ ResponsibilitiesReview check payee information to find billers on electronic networks improving eRateInitiating, updating, and resolving payment research requests with third party vendorsAssumes lead role on Payment Ops needs including training, fielding questions from the team, attending meetings on behalf of the team.This also include other tasks that come up.Initiate research requests for transactions of large dollar amounts or are particularly important to a client. Facilitate joint resolution calls with billers and clientsProvide Wex with volume projections. Move payment volume to Wex billers when possible. Open Jira tickets for Dev to add new Wex billers. This includes lists of billers provided by WexSupervisory ResponsibilityThis role does not have any supervisory responsibility. Education and ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field or 2-4 years of experience in payment operations, or finance-related roles.Experience in financial services and/or software technology services with a focus on customer service, relationship/account management, process improvement, and training. Should have demonstrated knowledge of electronic billing and payments, and/or merchant services experience Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a fully remote environment. This role requires use of standard office equipment such as a laptop computer.Physical DemandsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. Must be able to travel.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, during normal business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.TravelUp to 5% Travel, minimal.
