They assess dietary needs, develop personalized nutrition plans, and monitor outcomes to manage chronic conditions, address malnutrition, or meet specific health goals.Essential Work Functions:Evaluate appropriateness of diet order for diagnosis and recommend diet order changes as indicatedInstruct patients and patient families on dietary principles, restrictions, and practical strategies to achieve health goals per physician diet orderConduct patient visitations including screening for nutrition concerns relating to malnutrition, tube feeding, TPN, and special diets related to diseaseDevelop personalized nutrition plans and implement interventions based on knowledge of the patient's current healthMonitor the effectiveness of nutrition plans, adjusting as needed to improve outcomes.Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to include physicians, nurses, and aidesPerform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice for Registered DietitiansRequired Essential Skills:Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skillsThe ability to read, write, and communicate in the English languageAbility to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skillsPhysical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bendInterpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalismTechnical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipmentMental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel.
