Banquet Bartender - On CallPart-Time On-siteThe Sanderling Resort, located in Duck, North Carolina, is the premier oceanfront destination in the Outer Banks, offering refined coastal hospitality, elevated culinary programming, and memorable guest experiences.DescriptionDepartment: Events Banquets & CateringDirect Report: Banquet Manager / Banquet CaptainPurpose: To prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for banquet and catered events at The Sanderling Resort, ensuring exceptional guest service, consistent beverage quality, and adherence to EOS Hospitality and resort standards.The resort's banquet and catering program includes weddings, corporate events, social gatherings, and seasonal programming across multiple venues including the Sunset Ballroom, Great Hall, Event House, and outdoor event spaces.The Banquet Bartender plays a key role in delivering high-quality beverage service during events while contributing to a seamless and engaging guest experience.Job Summary:Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with established recipes, portioning standards, and presentation guidelinesProvide professional, friendly, and efficient service to guests at banquet bars and event spacesMaintain knowledge of all beverage offerings including cocktails, beer, wine, and event-specific selectionsSet up banquet bar areas according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), including proper placement of equipment, glassware, and productEnsure bar areas are clean, organized, and fully stocked prior to and throughout eventsBreak down bar areas following events, ensuring proper cleaning, storage, and inventory handlingMonitor guest consumption and ensure responsible alcohol service in compliance with all applicable laws and company policiesVerify identification of guests to ensure legal drinking age complianceMaintain accurate tracking of beverage consumption for hosted and on-consumption eventsEnsure proper handling of cash, tickets, or billing procedures as required by event specificationsWork collaboratively with banquet team members, culinary staff, and leadership to ensure efficient service flowCommunicate effectively regarding timing, guest needs, and event executionAssist with event setup and breakdown as needed, including support of banquet operations outside of the bar when requiredMaintain cleanliness and organization of all bar and service areas throughout eventsHandle guest concerns professionally and escalate issues to leadership when appropriateMaintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented attitudeEnsure compliance with all safety standards including responsible alcohol service, sanitation practices, and workplace policiesAttend required meetings and training sessionsComply with all policies outlined in the Handbook, Property Supplement, and company guidelinesEssential Functions of the Job:Ability to stand and remain active for up to 1012 hoursAbility to lift and carry up to 4050 lbs, including cases of product and bar equipmentAbility to move quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced event environmentAbility to set up and break down bar equipment and banquet spacesAbility to navigate stairs and multiple event venues across the resortAbility to communicate effectively with guests and team membersAbility to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidaysTechnology and Equipment Used:Point of Sale System (when applicable)Bar Equipment (shakers, jiggers, blenders, taps, etc.)Serving Tools and Beverage EquipmentPhone and Communication DevicesBasic Cleaning Tools and SuppliesWorking Environment:Work will take place across multiple indoor and outdoor event spaces within a resort settingFast-paced environment with varying event sizes and service stylesFrequent setup and breakdown of event spaces and bar areasExposure to outdoor elements, kitchen environments, and event equipmentTeam-oriented environment with direct guest interactionKey Skills & Experience Required:2+ Prior bartending experience required, preferably in banquet, event, or high-volume environmentsStrong knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, and beverage service standardsExcellent guest service and communication skillsAbility to multitask and remain composed under pressureAttention to detail and commitment to quality and consistencyAbility to work as part of a team and support overall event executionKnowledge of responsible alcohol service practices and legal requirementsAbility to perform physical duties including lifting and extended standingSuccessful completion of satisfactory background checkAvailable and willing to work flexible hours based on business needsNo Job Description for a position can possibly include all duties which may be requested by guests or required by the hotel.
