This role is ideal for an attorney who is passionate about trauma-informed advocacy and has hands-on experience litigating sexual abuse or assault cases within a personal injury framework. The ideal candidate will be licensed in New York, reside in or near the White Plains, NY area, and have 2–5 years of relevant litigation experience representing survivors against individuals, institutions, or corporate defendants. Key ResponsibilitiesRepresent survivors of sexual assault and abuse in civil litigation mattersManage cases from intake through resolution, including investigation, pleadings, discovery, depositions, and trial preparationConduct survivor-centered client meetings using a trauma-informed approachDraft and argue motions, respond to discovery, and participate in hearingsWork collaboratively with paralegals, case managers, and support staffCommunicate effectively with clients, experts, and opposing counselMaintain strict confidentiality and uphold the highest ethical standardsProvide empathetic, client-focused advocacy while pursuing justice and accountability Required QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law schoolActive New York Bar license in good standing2–5 years of experience in personal injury litigation with a strong focus on sexual abuse or sexual assault casesDemonstrated experience handling sensitive, high-emotional-impact casesStrong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skillsAbility to manage a caseload independently while collaborating with a teamResidency in or near White Plains, NY, willing to commute to White Plains Office Preferred QualificationsExperience litigating institutional abuse cases (e.g., schools, churches, organizations, correctional facilities, healthcare systems)Familiarity with New York’s Child Victims Act (CVA) and Adult Survivors Act (ASA)Trial or significant deposition experienceBackground in trauma-informed legal practice What We OfferMeaningful, mission-driven work advocating for survivorsCompetitive compensation based on experienceSupportive team environment with experienced litigation supportOpportunity to make a direct and lasting impact in clients’ lives
