Details 8 East Neuro Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM 13-week contract Every other weekend required No on-call requirements Floating required as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit Epic EMR Patient population includes post-trauma, surgical, and medical comorbidity cases Requirements Active RN license in Missouri or eligible for MO licensure (compact license accepted) Current BLS certification from AHA required ACLS from AHA preferred Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient Med/Surg experience required Neuro experience preferred (1 year) No employment gaps of 90 days within the past 12 months Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs not accepted) Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment unless a scheduled renewal is documented Additional Information Scrubs must be black Flu vaccination (or Mercy-approved exemption) is required for assignments running November 1 – April 1; declinations are not accepted Up to 5 days of RTO is allowed but must be made up during the assignment Only 1 holiday RTO request is permitted per assignment Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but are subject to a local rate adjustment Local candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts; after that, they must separate from the facility for at least 1 year or transfer to a facility outside the 50-mile radius The facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center and a Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center Responsibilities include applying the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) for patients of all age groups, coordinating care with ancillary departments, and maintaining patient rights and confidentiality Physical demands include standing and walking most of the shift, significant bending and stooping, and lifting/turning patients with assistance; must be able to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs and pinch up to 15 lbs American Traveler Job ID P-689117.
