Day shift: 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM; Night shift: 07:00 PM - 07:30 AM. Think of us as the travel buddy who handles the logistics while you focus on what you do best helping people heal.Roles & ResponsibilitiesProvide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to long-term care residents, including adults and geriatrics with dementia, Alzheimer's and other LTC diagnosesAdminister medications, IV therapy and peripheral line care safely and accuratelyPerform assessments and chart comprehensively in the ECS charting systemDeliver specialized care such as G-tube feedings, peritoneal (subcutaneous) dialysis care, wound care and respiratory treatmentsMonitor and manage glucose via accuchecks and implanted glucose sensors, and complete EKGs and pacemaker transmitter checks as neededSafely assist with patient mobility using lifts and established protocolsFloat within clinical scope to meet facility needs and collaborate with social services and interdisciplinary team membersAdhere to isolation precautions and proper PPE practices to maintain a safe care environmentQualificationsActive Alaska RN license in hand (required) — pending licenses are not acceptedMinimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience; demonstrated LTC experience requiredPrevious travel experience required; first-time travelers not acceptedBLS certification required prior to startComfort and competency with a 1:20 patient ratioAbility to float within scope and adapt to facility needsWillingness to work required holiday coverage and follow RTO policy (submit RTO with submittal)If utilizing the facility-provided vehicle: valid driver's license and proof of personal insurance required at contract signingKnowledge & SkillsThorough knowledge of long-term care practices and geriatrics (dementia, Alzheimer's, TBI, cognitive and physical impairments)Proficiency with ECS charting system and accurate documentationSkill in IV therapy, oxygen administration, peripheral line care and medication administrationExperience with phlebotomy, wound care, G-tube feedings and Duopa pump managementComfort delivering respiratory treatments (nebulizers) and basic ventilatory support tasks appropriate to LTCFamiliarity with vital sign machines, glucose monitors, EKGs and pacemaker transmitter useStrong safety practices including isolation precautions and safe patient handlingBenefitsFacility-provided vehicle for local use during your assignment (availability around contract start/end)Free on-site parking and convenient access to the facilityOrientation and on-site support — we help you hit the ground runningLicensure assistance reminders and required local certification (Alaska Food Worker Certification provided during orientation)Travel-friendly schedule options (choose 3x12 or 4x12)A collaborative, interdisciplinary team that values your expertiseOpportunities to expand clinical skills in LTC procedures (wound care, G-tube feedings, peritoneal dialysis, respiratory treatments)Work in a small-staffed facility with meaningful patient relationshipsTravel Perks: Explore Seward, AKSeward is a stunning coastal town and a nature-lover's dream.
