Program Cook-MST

Job Title: Program Cook- Mary S. Taylor Program Job Description: The responsibility of the Cook is to prepare congregate meals for any one of our nine congregate meal programs at our eight service locations in Manhattan and Bronx. He/she reports to the Lead Chef. Primary Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Maintaining the kitchen in a sanitary and safe conditions. Prepare, cook and serve food according to recommended instruction. Make local food purchases when necessary. Maintain kitchen equipment and areas according to Health Department ordinances. Maintain inventory of food and household supplies on hand and as needed. Qualifications/Criteria: Must possess Food Handling Certification. Previous related experience in food preparation. Ability to read and write English in order to follow written menus, recipes and work schedules. Ability to keep simple inventory of supplies on hand. Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with other staff and residents. Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays if needed. Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
