Payroll SpecialistLocation: New Rochelle Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site Start Date: ASAP Salary: Commensurate with Experience Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our finance team in a fast-paced construction environment. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, the Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing weekly union payroll across multiple companies, maintaining payroll compliance, and supporting reporting, audits, and year-end activities. This role requires strong organizational skills, payroll accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines efficiently. Key ResponsibilitiesProcess weekly payroll for multiple unions and companies accurately and on time Prepare certified payroll reports and union reports on a weekly basis Generate monthly utilization and payroll-related reports Assist with year-end W-2 preparation, reconciliation, and payroll tax reporting Support union, workers' compensation, and general liability audits Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and union regulations Collaborate with internal departments on payroll inquiries and special projects Assist with additional accounting and finance projects as needed Qualifications & RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience within the construction industry Strong understanding of union payroll, deductions, and certified payroll reporting Experience with payroll tax reporting and W-2 preparation/reconciliation Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel Experience with Timberline and/or Viewpoint is a plus Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines Self-motivated team player with strong communication skills Notary Public certification preferred or willingness to become a Notary BenefitsMedical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) Paid Holidays, Vacation, and PTO 401(k) with discretionary company match Life and Disability Insurance Apply TodayIf you are an experienced payroll professional with construction industry knowledge and union payroll expertise, we encourage you to apply and become part of a growing and collaborative team.
