divh2Tool Die / Mold Maker/h2pPay: $25-38/hr (based on experience level)/ppShift: Days/ppThe Tool Die/Mold Maker will support Product Manufacturing by constructing and repairing molds and machine parts using experience, skill and good judgment./ph3Education and Experience:/h3ulliMold Maker Apprentice ulli90th percentile or better on Mechanical Reasoning Test/liliCommitment to complete 10,000 hour OJT and required skills training/li/ul/liliMold Maker I ulliCompleted a Journeyman Certification/liliCompleted Primary Skills Certification/liliKnowledge of a CAM program and ability to update files./li/ul/liliMold Maker II ulliJourneyman Certification and 10,000 subsequent hours of experience/liliPassed Master Mold Maker Certification./liliDemonstrated Specialty Skill/li/ul/li/ulh3Requirements:/h3ulliJourneymans Certificate; highly preferred/liliAbility to read and interpret common scientific and technical journals and blueprints./liliAbility to write routine reports and correspondence./liliAbility to present information in one-on-one to employees of the organization./liliGood communication skills enable the engineer to exchange processing ideas with project managers, cost estimators, design engineers, toolmakers and production personnel./liliAbility to apply concepts such as basic trigonometry, geometry, fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations./liliMust be able to use personal computer to access and retrieve information/liliAbove-Average Mechanical Reasoning Ability/liliAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions./liliAbility to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables./li/ulh3Job Duties:/h3ulliComplete Assignments Efficiently by knowing quoted hours and delivery; going over work plan with lead Mold Maker, Design Engineer and Tool Shop Manager./liliDevelops Mold Function and Structure by studying blue prints of mold, product, and prototypes; applying knowledge of materials under stress, machining and assembly methods, and mathematics./liliMachine Parts by measuring, marking and scribing stock, setting up and operating lathe, mill, radial drill, CNC EDM, grinders, CNC machining centers, etc./liliConfirms Dimensions of Mold Components by verifying dimensions, clearances, and alignment of parts and components by using QC lab, micrometers, thickness gauges, gauge blocks, dial indicators, etc./liliFits Mold Components to Mating Tools by grinding, filing, etc. radii and/or chamfer on tools/liliCompletes Assembly by bolting and doweling parts and components together, installing tools in mold frame, connecting wiring and mechanical actions, hydraulic or air cylinders/liliConfirm performance of Mold by filling out visual checklist of completed projects, inspecting operation of dies; making adjustments; comparing finish product to print specifications./liliResolves Assembly Problems by making revisions where needed: Consulting with lead tool die maker to obtain additional resources.
