Federally funded positions are supplemental and therefore subject to federal funds.ROLE AND PURPOSE: The Dean of Data & Intervention plays a vital role in supporting student success by helping our school make informed, data-driven decisions. In this position, you'll oversee student data systems and use insights to strengthen instruction and ensure every student is prepared to meet high academic expectations. In addition, you will support the initial development of systems to make the data come to life.You'll work closely with teachers to turn data into meaningful action-especially in supporting students who need extra help mastering content and meeting performance goals. This includes guiding targeted interventions for key assessments such as EOC, AP, SAT, TSI, and ACT.We're looking for someone who enjoys thinking strategically and building systems that support students year-round. In this role, you'll help design both proactive and responsive supports, ensuring students have what they need to succeed during the school year and beyond.QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Certification:• Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred• Teaching Certificate issued by the Texas Education AgencyExperience:• Minimum three years of classroom teaching experience, five preferred• Requires 5 years of experience, preferably in a school district or educational setting with a strong focus on organizing and preparing large data sets for executive leaders.• Expertise in using student intervention strategies• Expertise in building systems to respond to dataSPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:• Demonstrates a strong commitment to the mission and core values of Arlington ISD and an unwavering belief that all students can and will succeed• Ability to collaborate effectively with campus and district staff, families, and school leaders• Strong communication and interpersonal skills• Ability to coach and mentor teachers and support personnel to improve instructional practice• Skilled in designing and delivering high-quality professional learning and staff development• Ability to analyze student data, interpret assessment results, and address identified areas of need• Experience conducting and utilizing a variety of assessment instruments to inform instruction• Ability to provide targeted academic interventions for small groups of students aligned to standards• Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines• High level of attention to detail and ability to maintain strict confidentiality of student records• Proficiency with Arlington ISD student data systems and advanced spreadsheet skills (e.g., Excel formulas)• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment• Working knowledge of instructional technology and its application in the classroom• Extensive knowledge of effective instructional strategies and best practices• Extensive knowledge of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and state assessments• Understanding of continuous improvement frameworksMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:I. INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT:• Student support (in collaboration with the classroom teacher and in a small group setting).• Plan and prepare a variety of learning activities considering individual students' culture, learning styles, special needs, and socio-economic background• Utilize materials and resources that support learning objectives and address students' varying learning styles and special needs• Ensure proper interventions are put in place for identified struggling students• Provide intervention support with effective implementation• Use assessment strategies to assist the continuous development of learners• Establish and maintain a positive and safe learning environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process• Assist with the development and implementation of student support plans• Monitor and communicate the progress of identified students• Review and analyze documented student data for needed modification• Assist in the annual development of student and staff schedules to coordinate courses with student needs• Coordinate the production of progress reports and parent conferences• Monitor report cards to check and intervene on passing rates• Communicates and models research-based instructional practices that result in increased student performance• Maintains a continued awareness of current research and trends in curriculumII. DATABASE MANAGEMENT:• Leads the use of student data for the entire campus• Serve as a super-user/administrator for the school's Data Management Systems• Actively supports members of the Leadership Team to accelerate their workIII. ATTENDANCE TRACKING:• Serve on the school's Attendance Team to identify and support at-risk students• Oversee the daily attendance process, including training teachers on the attendance-taking process and attendance intervention procedures, and holding teachers accountable to those processes to ensure on-time and accurate entry of attendance dataIV. STAFF COLLABORATION:• Lead Math and ELAR teachers to use student-level data to drive instructional improvement for each student• Provide technical support and training to teachers and administrators on using data platforms effectivelyV. OTHER DUTIES:• Applies excellent communication and interpersonal skills• Communicates with principal, teachers, and staff about identified student needs and offers support as needed• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.• Effectively implement the behavior and academic intervention systems established by the district• Continuously refine and enhance data and intervention systems to ensure optimal functionality, accuracy, and efficiency-supporting the operational excellence needed to drive student success• Follow up on all new student enrollments, re-enrollments, and withdrawals to ensure immediate updates are made to intervention schedules as needed• Maintain highly organized, secure, and up-to-date digital data of student records• Deliver clear, actionable reports on student enrollment, behavior, and attendance to inform strategic decisions• Serve on the school's Attendance Team, identifying at-risk students, and executing Attendance Intervention Plans as they relate to academic interventions• Act as a liaison between the school, district student data personnel (where applicable), and the junior high to support effective data systems and data management to start the school year• Leads and leverages the collective understandings of the multidisciplinary/MTSS team to increase student outcomesVI.
