This Clinical Intern role, supervised by a licensed nurse, offers hands-on experience in patient treatment and care within a supportive environment. Under general supervision, the Clinical Intern performs a variety of patient care duties tailored to individual age and developmental needs, assisting with daily living activities and clinical procedures. Provide direct patient care including hygiene assistance such as bathing, hair care, oral hygiene, and grooming. Deliver skin care while preventing skin breakdown. Assist with physical activities including repositioning, ambulation, range of motion exercises, and transfers. Support nutritional needs by preparing patients for meals, assisting with feeding, monitoring intake, and adhering to dietary restrictions. Collect specimens, perform vital signs, and document intake and output accurately. Perform sit baths, postmortem care, and apply therapeutic devices like TED hose, K-pads, ice packs, and binders. Lead and encourage participation in performance improvement initiatives and teamwork. Carry out technical procedures and nursing interventions within credentialed scope. Maintain close communication with primary nurses and notify them promptly of any patient condition changes. Manage oxygen therapy, urinary catheter insertion/removal, intravenous therapy discontinuation, nasopharyngeal suctioning, dressing changes, wound care, and skin management. Conduct patient assessments and collaborate with primary nurses for care planning. Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous injections, and manage NG tube insertion and maintenance. Educate patients and families alongside primary nurses. Document all patient care activities thoroughly and accurately in medical records. Currently enrolled in a nursing program or completed nursing education without meeting licensing requirements. Entry-level position; no prior experience required. Not applicable. Requires considerable mental focus, frequent heavy lifting, turning, walking, and physical activities such as carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching. Exposure to infectious diseases, radiation, anti-neoplastic agents, and occasionally hostile individuals. Frequent contact with communicable diseases through blood and body fluids. Minimal physical discomfort expected.
